Luke 23:27-28 Weep For Yourselves

Luke 23:27-28

27 A large number of people followed him, including women who mourned and wailed for him.

28 Jesus turned and said to them, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and for your children.

I started with painting with an angular brown swipe of pigment, followed by a blue patch to represent first the hilly climb, and secondly Jesus. 
There is a lot of pain in this scene, so I added reds, I painted a black border around this scene, and splashed black over it. Evil is close at hand and seemed to be in control.
And then the white of God crept in as it dried. See the white at the top, the edges of the red, and even within the blue. The black was unable to take over. God was ever present, within, and already healing the pain.
I'm keeping that in mind today and throughout this week.
