Luke 24:13-30 Jesus Walked With Them

Luke 24:13-30 As two of Jesus followers were walking to another town they were met on the road by Jesus himself, although they didn't recognize Him. When they told Him how upset and troubled they were with all that had happened He proceeded to explain how all of it was to fulfill what the Old Testament had said would happen. 
I used a lot of brown at the base of this painting, because I was struck with the realization that Jesus was attempting to calm their fears, to ground them, with the teachings they already knew. I used blue to represent the peace He brought to the situation and the lightness happened as it all flowed and dried. 
I was so inspired by this piece it will be the topic of my blog this week.
